Police are appealing for information about the stolen motorbike used to shoot four people, including a nine-year-old girl, in Hackney, east London.

At a news conference near the scene on Friday, police revealed the bike the offender used in the attack on Dalston Kingsland Road is a Ducati Monster with a white body, red chassis, and red wheels.

It had been reported stolen from Wembley, northwest London, in 2021, and at the time of the shooting had the registration plate DP21 0XY, Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway said.

The bike was found about a quarter of a mile away from the scene shortly after.

Hackney shooting: Motorbike details released

DCS Conway appealed to anyone who has seen or used the bike in the past three years, stressing the registration plate may have been changed.

He also gave an update on the four injured in the shooting at around 9pm on Wednesday.

Two of the men, aged 26 and 42, remain in hospital, he said, but the 37-year-old man has since been discharged. The nine-year-old is still “fighting for her life”, he added.

Appeal to Turkish and Kurdish communities

DCS Conway appealed to the “Turkish and Kurdish” communities in north and east London for information, as the three injured men have connections to them.

He said: “This shocking attack will have had an element of pre-planning.

“This means there are people out there who know something which may be crucial to our investigation.

“Gun crime has no place on the streets of London and this reckless act has left a young child fighting for her life.”
