Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny premiere was full of surprises.
Harrison Ford, 80, arrived at the Los Angeles premiere on Wednesday night on the red carpet with wife Calista Flockhart.
The film’s cast and crew also joined the star as they marked the fifth and final film of the franchise created by director George Lucas.
During his red carpet galore, Ford was surprised by a special guest as they embraced one another in a heartwarming moment.
Former co-star and Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan sneaked up behind ford and greeted him as the two reunited on the carpet.
In a video posted on Twitter, Quan and Ford are seen embracing one another – a moment which has many fans excited on social media.
One user wrote: “It’s rare to see Ford light up like this.”
Another user said: “I will never get sick of seeing these two together.”
Speaking to ET News on the red carpet, Quan said: “Honestly, every time I see him — he’s such a gracious man, such a humble man.
“And the reason why I love acting so much is because of him, because of that experience that we had on Temple Of Doom. So, here we are so many years later.”
The 51-year-old actor starred alongside Ford in Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom when he was just a child.
Quan was 12 years old when he made his debut as a professional actor nearly 40 years ago, playing the role of Short Round in the movie.
A night full of surprises
The surprises did not end there.
Legendary composer John Williams captured the audience at the premiere with a surprise live performance.
The 91-year-old was accompanied by a full orchestra and played several pieces from the film’s score – ahead of a screening at the Dolby Theatre.
Director Steven Spielberg introduced Williams and described him as “the glue” that holds the franchise together, having scored all five of the films.
“(This is) the person who is the glue to all five of these films – that gave us all of our rhythm and all of our melody – the great maestro John Williams,” he said.
Prompting a standing ovation from the audience, a curtain behind Spielberg lifted to reveal Williams and the musicians.
Williams later thanked the audience and said it was a “joy” to perform with the orchestra.
He added: “It is a joy to be with you today with our orchestra.
“I love it because you will hear the orchestra all through this marvellous movie… and hear their brilliant playing.
“Each one is a great virtuoso in their own right and you can see them here today and discover that they are actually people.
“So to bring all of these forces together with all of you, what a treat.”
Could this be the last Indiana Jones movie for Ford?
Bringing a close to the chapter, Ford said Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny would be his last in the series.
He first took on the role of the globe-trotting archaeologist in 1981’s Indiana Jones And The Raiders Of The Lost Ark, which followed up with four sequels.
The fifth film of the franchise will be his final return as the eponymous hero, joined by co-stars Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen and Toby Jones.
The actor said he was grateful to his wife for having been allowed to make films for more than four decades but that he would like to “spend a little bit more time at home”.
Ford added: “I’d like to spend a little bit more time at home, frankly.
“I love making movies, I’ve been making movies for longer than even 42 years and… my work is really important to me.
“I really appreciate the opportunity to do it – my wife granted me that opportunity. But I’ve been working a lot lately so I might be due for a bit of a rest.”

Asked about the possibility of remakes of the films, he said: “They don’t need my blessing.
“If they want to do that they do that.”
At the premiere, Spielberg hailed the three people who were responsible for the success of the films.
He said: “(Without them) none of us would be here tonight.
“That starts with the person who created Indiana Jones, George Lucas, the person who is Indiana Jones, Harrison Ford, and the person who is the glue to all five of these films – that gave us all of our rhythm and all of our melody – the great maestro John Williams.”
Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny arrives in UK cinemas on 28 June.
