Police searching for a 63-year-old man reported missing in Ipswich have found a body.

The family of Julian De Bono, who disappeared in the early hours of Sunday last week, have been informed after underwater search teams made the discovery in the River Gipping just after 3pm today.

A Suffolk Police spokesman said a post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the cause of death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.

Julian was last seen at around 1.55am after being was dropped off by a taxi around 90 minutes earlier.

Searches took place in and around the river as divers were assisted by drones and small craft on the water.
