The Chosen is now streaming on the home of Star Wars, Marvel, and Mickey Mouse. The Bible-based series entered Disney Plus  in recent days , giving the award-winning TV show another major outlet and placing it in front of the company’s 112 million subscribers. The first three seasons of the four-season series are on Disney Plus. While  The Chosen  is also available on Netflix,  only the first season can be accessed  there.  Of course,  the series can still be viewed  for free on its  own  app.

Director and creator Dallas Jenkins celebrated  the new venture, saying on his Facebook page, “Seasons 1-3 are getting to another new audience.”  The Chosen  may be the most popular faith-based project of the past two decades, having landed on the cover of TV Guide and having sold out theaters when it debuted at the box office. It’s been the No. 1 grossing movie in America multiple times. More than 200 million people worldwide have watched The Chosen, according to new data the company behind the series released this year.

“Part of the goal at  The Chosen  is to get the show in front of as many people as possible,” Kyle Young, the executive vice president of distribution and marketing for  The Chosen , told  Variety . “It took the first four years of the series to reach 100 million people. And then, in the last 15 months, we’ve reached another 100 million people.”

Stan Jantz, CEO of the Come and See Foundation , said the goal is to have 1 billion watch  The Chosen . The Come and See Foundation is a non-profit ministry that works to translate the series into other languages. The ultimate milestone, he said, is to see it translated into 600 languages, which would represent 95 percent of the world.

“We’re told in Scripture to make disciples of all nations,” Jantz told Crosswalk Headlines.

Meanwhile, Jenkins recently gave a timetable for the Season 4 release of The Chosen, saying in an April 21 livestream that the new season will begin releasing in four to seven weeks, at two episodes per week, the Deseret News reported. That would place its release in late May to mid-June — presumably on the series own app, as has been the case with past seasons. The company behind The Chosen has been dealing with undisclosed legal issues related to Season 4, he said.
