Tesla has launched a new ‘Military Purchase Program’ with $1,000 discounts on all Tesla models (except Cybertruck for veterans and active duty military members and their spouses.

Military purchase programs are fairly common in the industry, especially with American automakers.

Now, Tesla is jumping on board with its own military purchase program.

The automaker wrote on its new website for the program:

To honor those who have served our country, we’re offering members of the U.S. military $1,000 off the purchase price of Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X. This offer is available to military veterans, retirees, active duty members and their spouses. There is no limit on the number of vehicles that can be purchased.

Tesla’s program applies to all its existing vehicles except for the Cybertruck, which is still being ramp up.

$1,000 is more generous than some competitor programs and less than others.

A quick lookup of other programs shows military discounts ranging from $500 to $4,000.

Tesla uses a third-party service to verify the applicant’s eligibility and then if they are confirmed current or former military members or their spouses, the discount is applied to their preferred vehicle.

The automaker is using the tagline ‘Made in America for Those Who Served’ for the program.

Many Americans don’t even know that Tesla is an American automaker and Tesla has been trying to push the narrative in the US, especially since its vehicles consistently score as the “most American-made vehicles” based on labor and part sourcing.
